There are several actions you can take from the Whiteboard List using options on the action bar at the top of the screen.

Select All: Highlights all of the patient visits on the current screen and enables the Add to Watch List option (if applicable) and the Assign Hospitalist option. The selected option will then be applied to all highlighted patient visits.

Add to Watch List: Allows the user to select a patient from a search and add that patient to his/her Watch List on the Whiteboard List. If a particular patient is already on a physician's Watch List, the button will not be available when that patient is selected. This option adds the patient to the My Patients patient filter.

Remove from Watch List: Removes the selected patient from the physician's Watch List. If a patient is not on the physician's Watch List, the button will not be available when that patient is selected. This option removes the patient from the My Patients patient filter.

Assign Hospitalist: Launches the Physician List so that a provider may be selected from the list. Once the provider has been selected, the list will reflect the name of the selected provider as "NAME OF PROVIDER (Hospitalist)." This will also allow the patient to be viewed under the Hospitalist Relationship Type filter.

NOTE: Only one hospitalist may be assigned to the patient at a time. If a new hospitalist is assigned to a patient, the previously selected hospitalist will appear as "Hospitalist of Record" in the CareTeam. There can be multiple "Hospitalists of Record" on the patient's Care Team.

Unassign Hospitalist: Removes the existing hospitalist assigned to the patient and makes them a "Hospitalist of Record" in the patient Demographics. The option will be available when a patient visit(s) with an assigned hospitalist is selected.

NOTE: Once a hospitalist has been removed from a patient visit, all defaulting provider fields should reflect the name of the attending physician.

Add Care Team Event Notification: Displays a listing of physicians the patient has requested to be notified when they are admitted, discharged, or transferred from the facility. This screen will allow a physician to be added, deleted, or edited. Only physicians set up in the Referring Physician table may be sent a notification. For more information, refer to the Person Profile and Registration user guide.

Portal Management: Launches the Portal Management screen, which allows the facility to monitor the registration process for the patient within MyCareCorner. This option is only available when a facility is using the MyCareCorner patient portal. For additional information, see the MyCareCorner User Guide.

Double-clicking the desired visit will direct the user to the patient's chart. If the patient has any active alerts, the chart will open directly to the Alerts application. If there are no active alerts, the patient chart will open to the first application on the user's Custom Navigation in Table Maintenance.

NOTE: Patient account access may be limited per hospital policy and procedures. Emergency access to any patient account by any provider may be accomplished using Emergency Access - "Breaking the Glass" (Emergency Access to PHI) found on page 1 of Physician Security. The user will be prompted that they are not authorized to view this patient and access is monitored.

Select the desired Patient Account to display the patient chart. If the patient has any active alerts, the chart will open directly to the Alerts application. If there are no active alerts, the patient chart will open to the first application on the user's Custom Navigation in Table Maintenance.
