Carbohydrate Formula Edit Screen

The Carbohydrate Formula Edit screen will allow the provider to edit the Carbohydrate Formula protocol.

•The provider can either double-click the protocol from the Protocol List Box or select and select Edit Protocol from the action bar to access the Carbohydrate Formula Edit screen.

Select Order Entry > Select Pending Medication > Add Protocol > select Formula

Carbohydrate Formula Edit

The Carbohydrate Formula Edit screen will appear in the following order:

•Screen Title: Carbohydrate Formula Edit

•Description: This field is a free text alphanumeric entry that allows up to 55 characters. The system will pull the selected description, but it may be overwritten. If New is selected, this field will appear blank.

•Formula: This field is a free text alphanumeric entry that allows up to 7 characters to indicate the number. This will be followed by Grams of Carbohydrates.

•Grams of Carbohydrates =: This field is a free text alphanumeric entry that allows up to 7 characters. It is followed by Unit(s) of Insulin, which is a 6-character field.

•Comment: The comment field will allow for up to 75 characters to be entered.

All information in these fields should populate automatically, but may be overwritten.

NOTE: The carbohydrate formula cannot be saved unless all fields have been addressed.
