The Patient Location Maintenance application allows staff to Transfer, Discharge, Reverse a Discharge, Reverse an Admit, and access the Discharge Checklist on the patient. The application is commonly set as a column destination on the tracking board.

 

To access Patient Location Maintenance, select the tracking board column that is set to launch the application or select Charts > Select Patient > Location Maintenance.

Action Bar Options

 

The following options are available from the action bar:

 

•Update: Saves changes made on the screen.

 

•To Chart: Displays when the application is accessed from a tracking board column destination. Launches the user to the patient's chart.

 

•Transfer: Launches the Patient Location: Transfer screen to allow the user to complete the transfer.

 

•Discharge: Launches the Patient Discharge screen to allow the user to complete the discharge.

 

•Reverse Discharge: Reverses the hospital discharge.

 

•Reverse Admit: Reverses the hospital admit.

 

•Discharge Checklist: Launches to the patient's discharge checklist. See Addressing the Discharge Checklist for more information on the discharge checklist.

 

 

Available Fields

 

The following fields are available on the screen:

 

•Hospitalist: Allows for a hospitalist to be assigned to the patient.

 

•Nurse: Allows for a nurse to be assigned to the patient. Patients assigned to a nurse will display in a list on the tracking board when the assigned nurse selects My Assigned on the tracking board.

 

•Status: Allows for a status selection from the list of patient statuses created for the department. The patient's status may also be selected in the Status column on the tracking board.
