Encounter History

The Encounter History specialty card provides a comprehensive view of the history of the patient's visits.

The date line at the top of the card shows the time line for the patient's visits. Hovering over a dot on the time line displays the date and time of the visit that dot represents. Clicking the dot highlights that visit within the grid on the card.

 

Each row in the grid represents a visit. For each visit, the following columns of information will display:

oAdmitted: Displays the admission date for the visit.

oTreated for: Displays the problems marked as "Treating This Visit" within the Problem Management Card of Patient Data Console for that visit.

oLocation: Displays the facility the patient was treated within.

 

In addition to the columns of information listed above, each row also displays an icon representing the stay type for the visit.

ohospital_visit_icon: Stay type 1 (Inpatient).

ostay_type_2or4: Stay type 2 or 4.

ostay_type_3: Stay type 3.

opreadmit_icon: Pre-admit visits.

 

If any notes are documented on the visit, select the chevron to the left of the visit to access them. When notes are available, a View Document icon will display. Select the icon to view the note in the Document Viewer. When finished, select Done to close the viewer and return to the Encounter History card. You can also select and view two notes to compare how a patient is progressing over time. Select the check box within the row of the desired note. The Compare option will display the one note that is selected. Then select the check box for the other note and select Compare. The notes will display side by side with the newest note displayed on the left. Select Done to close the comparison view.

 

You can filter the card to display visits flagged with the patient's problem(s). Select the Filter drop-down and choose the problem(s) you want to view visits related to. The list will display problems on the patient's problem list with a status of Treat this Visit, Active, or Historical. To clear the filter and display all visits again, select the red "x" that displays to the right of the drop-down.

 

NOTE: The Encounter History card will exclude accounts created by the system as part of the Critical Access process.
