The option to document the amount of time and the number of times an infant was breast fed is available for the Pediatric and Nursery Chart Types.

 

1.Select New Intake on the flow chart. The Enter New Intake box displays.

2.The Date/Time fields default to the current date and time. Modify these fields, if necessary.

 

3.In the Enter Intake Type field, use the drop-down to select either L/R Breast, L Breast, or R Breast.

4.In the Enter Feeding Quality field, use the drop-down to select the feeding quality.

 

5.In the Choose Feeding Type field, use the drop-down to select either Feeding Times or Feeding Minutes.

 

6.In the Amount field, use the number pad to enter either the feeding times or feeding minutes.

 

NOTE: To record an amount of zero, select None on the number pad.

 

7.Select Update to save the information and return to the flow chart or Cancel to close the box without saving and return to the flow chart. When Update is selected, the intake selection will display on the flow chart for future documentation.
