Associating Interventions to a Problem

When nursing orders or interventions are associated with a nursing problem in Order Chronology, the care plan can be charted on both in Order Chronology and on the flow chart.

 

 

To Associate Intervention(s) to a Nursing Problem

 

1.On the Order Entry screen, search for and add the nursing interventions to the Pending Orders list and select Review.

 

2.On the Pending Order Review screen, double-click on the nursing intervention that should be associated with the nursing problem.

3.The Nursing Order Edit screen displays. Select Associate Problem.

4.The Associated Problems screen displays. Double-click on the nursing problem to be associated with the nursing intervention.

5.The Nursing Order Edit screen displays. The problem associated with the intervention displays in the Problem field. Select Update to associate the problem.

6.Repeat steps 2 through 5 to associated additional nursing interventions to a nursing problem.

 

7.Once all interventions have been associated to a nursing problem, select Update.

To Verify Interventions Are Associated to a Nursing Problem

 

1.Go to Order Chronology.

 

2.In the Review Style field, use the drop-down and select Expanded. Verify the appropriate nursing interventions are associated with the appropriate nursing problems.

 

NOTE: To associate a nursing intervention to a nursing problem in Order Chronology, double-click on the intervention, select Associate Problem, select the problem, and select Update.
