Activity flow charts may be used to document patient activities. These flow charts consist of user-defined activity statements and answers. Activity flow charts are not commonly used, as activities are documented in Order Chronology.

 

Documentation on these flow charts can be viewed and printed on the Activities report.

 

 

To Document an Activity

 

1.Select the appropriate activity statement on the flow chart. The activity/answer box displays.

2.The Date/Time fields default to the current date and time. Modify these fields, if necessary.

 

3.Select the appropriate answer(s). If additional documentation needs to be added, select the answer box and enter the additional information. Then select OK.

 

NOTE: A maximum of 10 lines or 500 characters can be entered for each activity answer. Once the maximum is reached, a Text Warning message will display with the option to Enter the Text or Start Over. Select Enter the Text to return to the answer box or select Start Over to clear the text and start over.

 

4.Select the Pain f/s check box to have the information print to the Pain Flowsheet.

 

5.Select Next to save the information and advance to the next activity statement, Update to save the information and return to the flow chart, Clear to clear the entry, Cancel to clear the entry and return to the flow chart, or Prev to save the information and go to the previous activity statement.
