The Electronic Forms module replaces paper-based patient data and care forms with user-defined electronic ones. Displayed and completed in web client, the module's forms are easy to use and may be customized to meet such needs as emergency department triage, trauma assessments, modality worksheets, consent for treatment, information release requests, transfers, etc. The possibilities are limitless.
Completed forms become a permanent part of the patient's electronic medical record with access provided to patient care forms from within the clinical record. In addition to their convenience, electronic forms are also a more efficient use of system resources, with each form requiring significantly less storage space than a comparable scanned document. A patient account cannot be deleted if that account has an Electronic Form. A prompt will alert the user that the account has Nursing Information on file and will not allow deletion of that account.
The module's form creation function allows the hospital to define the layout, questions, response, and ad hoc query options of each form. Multiple color, line, font, and image options create the final on-screen/printed look of the form and allow the highlighting of critical data. The result is on-screen forms that actually look like the paper forms they replace. Custom on-line help may be integrated into each form to provide instructions and visual guides to support form completion. The module also includes an image markup tool for use with anatomic or diagram images to document patient conditions or injury circumstances.
NOTE: HIPAA regulations require that Psychotherapy Notes be kept separate from the rest of the medical record and that only the originator of the document have access to them. The TruBridge EHR is built to be a collaborative tool and therefore does not have the ability to control access specifically to Psychotherapy Notes. For this reason, all Psychotherapy Notes should be stored outside the TruBridge EHR.
NOTE: Facilities outside of the United States may choose to display the patient’s height/length in metric units throughout the Electronic Forms application. A TruBridge Representative will need to be contacted in order for height/length to display in metric units.
NOTE: Facilities outside of the United States may choose a date format of MMDDYY, DDMMYY, or YYMMDD to be used on all date fields in the Electronic Forms Application. Where four-digit dates display, a date format of MMDD, DDMM, or MMDD, respectively, will be used. Whichever date format is selected will be reflected in all date fields and column displays throughout the application. A TruBridge Representative should be contacted in order for the date format to be changed.
